Clarence flyin 2018

G’day all the Clarence flyin 2018 is on!!! It will commence in the afternoon/evening at Kaikoura airport on Friday the 30th of November. From there weather permitting it will be over to you to decide if you are happy to proceed to Quail flat. I will be able to meet with you at Kaikoura and brief you on Quail if required. If you are familiar with Quail flat and wish to proceed direct to the strip that is over to you.

This is a camping trip so please ensure you bring all your food (BBQ will be on site) refreshments and camping gear/tents etc. There are some bunks available but it will be first in first served. The other option is an airbed in the woolshed if you prefer. It doesn’t feel like it now but swimming in the river maybe on as well.

Marcus Van Asch has offered to bring claybirds and a thrower over so if you would like to bring your shotgun and have a go please do.

The intention for Saturday lunch is at “The Store” Kekerengu just to the north of Clarance River mouth.
We will be landing on the Macfarlane’s farm there called “Winterhome” (Harvey Beethams Daughter Niki is the lady of the manor) attached is some detail about their world class garden which will be open to us for $20.00 per head.

Winterhome Garden was created nearly four decades ago by its creators - Richard and Sue Macfarlane and is today a proud family run business that compliments the 1000 hectare sheep and beef farm. The gardens unique large scale and world class design, which incorporates nearly 10acres of formal garden and a small avocado orchard, provides a wealth of stunning vistas and settings nestled above the rugged Marlborough coast. With mass plantings, sensational Pacific Ocean views and year around appeal, the garden exhibits a timeless presence and celebrates the incredible vision of its founders.

Feel free to visit their new website

As normal please flick me an email at cessna180@xtra.co.nz or call 0275443917 with your planed attendance and don’t forget how many in your aircraft for lunch bookings.
I would suggest knocking out a few bounces somewhere on the way so they are out of your system!
We will have a selection of strips available for your viewing pleasure. Some harder than others. Bring along some cash for clays, your shotgun and earmuffs.

Any questions please let me know. Once I have your confirmation of attendance I will let you know strip coordinates.
